Description

Have three lines at the top of the 15m. Each player should be wearing a different color. The coach rolls the ground ball out and it’s a 1v1v1 ground ball fight — everybody starts out on their own team. The winner of the ground ball goes to goal and the losers join forces to double team the ball. The play is finished when the ball is out of bounds, a goal is scored or the defense clears it.

Key Coaching Points

Depending on the age and skill level of your team, pick a few main focus points to work on. If your team is brand new at lacrosse, only focus on decision making (for example, the losers realizing they are now defenders working together). If your team is more advanced, make sure they are chasing shots, communicating through their doubles, and handing the ball under pressure. Adapt this drill to your team!
